Aayannar and Sivagami stay in Kanchi waiting for the fort gates to reopen. Very strongly recommended for people who are interedted in Tamil history and literature. The book is full of mystery, drama, thriller, conspiracy and romance.
Satrugnan, the spy chief, in the Pallava army, comes with the news from the emperor asking Narasimhavarman to launch an attack on Durveneedhan, a local chieftain who tries to attack Kanchi in this hour of crisis.
I would like to thank and congratulate Nandini for the outstanding work she has done in translating this novel and at the same time, maintaining the tamil flavour. What change is made is absurd. Naganandhi, who has promised Aayannar that he would get him the secret behind the dyes used in the Ajanta paintings under Chalukyas, asks Slvagamiyin to send Paranjothi on a trip to saabatham Vindhyas to meet a monk who Naganandhi says, should give Paranjothi the secret formula for the dyes.

Mahendravarman has died, never recovering from the injury he sustained from the battle with Pulakesi’s army. Oct 04, Ravi Sankar rated it really liked it. Most of the times I felt as if I was living among the characters. Only Kalki can blended fictional characters – Naganandhi and Sivakami – with real history though his reading at that point in time, it correlates well with Tamil literature of that time the way he has done.
And realised that I had read only 2 parts! He also hides from Pulakesi the fact that the Pallava forces are on their way to attack Vatapi.
Humiliated Sivagami vows that she would not leave Vatapi until Narasimhavarman burns it down and rescues her. Set in 7th-century south India against the backdrop of various historical events and figures, the novel created widespread interest in Tamil history. I would gladly gift it to people I love!

Not withstanding that, the intensity he has built into Mamalla Narasimha Varma Pallavan and Sivakami is amazing. Failed to meet my expectations.
Such literary class is rare to see. What other items do customers buy after viewing this item? It gave me the same feeling of reading the book in Tamil, which is I believe a very important factor in such books.

He continues his preparation for attacking Vatapi. No ideal characters distilled of oalkiyin. It is like living in that period and actually witnessing the events that the author is talking about. Naganandhi almost gains Sivagami’s trust by promising her that he will make her famous by arranging for her performance in all the important sites of the Chola and Pandya kingdoms. Special mention for the audio book.
Meanwhile, the differences between slvagamiyin brothers Naganandhi and Pulikesi increases. Immediately I bought his other books, ponniyin selvan and sivagamiyin sabatham they are astounded then I switched to similar kind of novels and grew frantic in reading.
I’ve never admired some one dancing Bharatham before, but I did when Sivagami danced in the Kanchi palace! Dec 27, You cannot put it down. But he ends up saving the damsel Sivagami and her father Aayannar from a mad elephant by throwing a spear at it, almost by reflex. But times are changing, foes are and allies are rethinking their boundaries, with war being imminent. War, palace intrigue, description of nature, culture, religion, all are part of the script.
The story line tells that Narasimha varma was in love with Sivakami, who was taken a prisoner by Pulikesin after the war. I’ve never been to Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuran or Vathapi, but now I feel like I’ve been there for long!

Pulakeshin deciphers the letter that Paranjothi is carrying to mean the young man should be given the secret of the Ajanta dyes.
Paranjothi leaves from Pulakesi’s camp with some soldiers accompanying him. He decides to camp outside the fort as long as it takes since he believes that the stockpile of food would soon run out in the fort forcing the Pallava king to surrender. Then sivagami is a very marvelous bharathanatyam dancer.

Sivagami and narasima was loved. She cites the vow as a reason and refuses to come with Narasimhavarman when he makes a secret visit to come and rescue her. There is considerable unease in the town since the Chalukya king Pulikesi sivagamiyinn on his way to attack Kanchi.
